Do matrimonial regimes exist and do they need to be addressed by the court on divorce? Is there a default regime?

Matrimonial regimes which the couple are attached to are applied in cases of divorce. According to the Turkish Civil Code, if the parties married before 01.01.2002 they had a separate property regime until that date, if they did not choose another regime within one year after 01.01.2002, a matrimonial property regime is implemented from 01.01.2002. For marriages after this date, the legal matrimonial property regime is implemented in cases where the parties did not choose another regime allowed within the Code.
