Relocation of a child is not covered by Turkish Law. If the parties are married, the parents should show their approval to relocate the child to a different place. Relocating the child without the approval of the other parent is a crime under the Turkish Criminal Code. When the Court makes a decision related to the child, they consider the benefits of the child. If the parties are divorced, only one parent will have the custody of the child and will have the right to relocate the child without needing any approval or permission from the other parent. However, parents should consider the welfare of the child regarding the relocation. If the child is old enough to give a statement, the wishes and the requests of the child will be taken into consideration by the Court.
