For how long is a parent required to pay child maintenance or provide financial support for their children? For example, can a child seek maintenance during university?

As a rule, parents are supposed to participate in the costs of children education and care until children reach 18 years old at which point they are considered an adult. But, under the Turkish Civil Code, it is also regulated that, taking into the consideration their conditions and states, parents will be required to pay child maintenance during their children’s education. Therefore, depending on the case, parents may have to participate in children’s costs during their university education.
