Portugal
Residency and Citizenship:
– Residence permit for 5 years (actual residence isn’t required);
– The right to apply for citizenship at the end of 5 years.
Requirements:
- Investing in a house, business or property worth 500.000 Euro;
- Need to stay only 7 days a year for 5 years.
Spain
Residency and Citizenship:
– Permanent residence permit after 5 years;
– Apply for citizenship after 10 years.
Requirements:
- Investment of at least 500.000 Euro in real estate projects, provided the property is held until permanent residence.
- Provided the investment is maintained for at least 5 years,
– Investment of 1.000.000 Euro in Spanish Government bonds;
– Investment of 1.000.000 Euro in shares of Spanish companies;
– Deposit of 1.000.000 Euro into a Spanish bank account.
Malta
Citizenship:
– 1 year of actual residence required;
– 3 years of actual time required.
If only a residence permit is required:
– Purchase required of a real estate in the amount of 350.000 Euro.
Requirements:
- 600.000 Euro investment and citizenship after 3 years of actual residence in Malta;
- 750.000 Euro investment and citizenship after 1 year of actual residence in Malta.
Greece
Residency:
– Residence permit for 5 years (actual residence isn’t required), but citizenship isn’t granted.
Requirements:
- Purchase of real estate in 36 municipalities such as Mykonos, Santorini, Thessaloniki and Athens for a period of 5 years, retention of 500.000 Euro;
- A term deposit of at least 400.000 Euro to the Greek Credit Institution, provided that the investment is held for a minimum of 1 year;
- Government bonds for at least 800.000 Euro.
Hungary
Residency:
– Residence permit for 10 years (actual residence isn’t required), but citizenship isn’t granted.
Requirements:
- Investment of a minimum amount of 250.000 Euro in real estate investment fund shares registered by the Central Bank of Hungary;
- Purchase of real estate in Hungary for 500.000 Euro.
Bulgaria
Residency and Citizenship:
– Residence permit for 5 years (actual residence isn’t required);
– Apply for citizenship after 5 years.
Requirements:
- Invest 500.000 Euro in a Government Bond Portfolio for a 5-year investment period;
- Invest 1.000.000 Euro in a Government Bond Portfolio for a 2.5-year investment period.
Ireland
Residency and Citizenship:
– Residence permit for 3 years (actual residence isn’t required);
– Apply for citizenship after 3 years.
Requirements:
- Corporate Investment 1.000.000 Euro;
- Investment Fund 1.000.000 Euro.
** Also required to show 2.000.000 Euro assets in the bank.
Latvia
Residency and Citizenship:
– Residence permit for 10 years (actual residence required);
– Apply for citizenship after 10 years.
Requirements:
- Invest at least 50,000 Euro in a company that pays at least 40,000 Euro annual tax;
- Investment Fund 250.000 Euro.
