“The Law on Mitigating the Effects of the New Coronavirus Outbreak (Covid-19) on Economic and Social Life and Amendments to Some Laws” has been published in the Official Gazette 17.04.2020 within the scope of the struggle with Covid-19 pandemic.
As limited to amounts that should have been collected within the 3 months-long period since this article enter into force within the scope of the Article 16 of the Law on Higher Education Credit and Dormitories; the following are stated under the subparagraph (ğ) of the Article 1 of the Law no. 7244 which is titled as “Postponement, Not Collecting or Configuration of Some Debts”;
- The postponement of these debts for 3 months without requiring any application.
- In addition; this term may be extended by the Minister of Youth and Sports up to 3 months since the end date.
- These mentioned debts shall be collected at the end of the aforementioned periods on a monthly basis, without imposing any default interest, interest or Domestic Producer Price Index (DPPI).
These became valid upon the publication of the Law no.7244 in the Official Gazette 17.04.2020.
